
David Bates – David established Belvedere Partners in 2019 after more than 20 years’ working in the retail banking and real estate sectors, over which time he built an extensive global network of contacts.
In 1997 David joined prominent high street bank LloydsTSB, progressing up the corporate ladder and undertaking a series of client focused, relationship-based roles that culminated in a move offshore to the Isle of Man in 2002.
Following 18 months as Overseas Club Manager for clients in the USA & Canada he moved into the local market as the inaugural Premier Banking Manager for the Island, a position he held until 2006.
After a year working in West Africa as Finance Director for one of his bank clients David returned to the Isle of Man in 2007 and took up the position of Business Development Manager and later Head of International with one of the UK’s most successful privately-owned property developers, Dandara.
Amid the global recession that ensued David continued to research and identify new markets further afield attracting business and investors from South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, China and Hong Kong.
In recent years David has spent time with well-established Isle of Man companies Black Grace Cowley and Charterhouse Lombard where he continued to further build and establish his international network particularly in the Asia Pacific region.
A lifelong Derby County supporter David is married to Leanne and they have two children, Olivia and Charlie.
